Our approach to therapy

Relationships are the foundation of our work with clients. From your relationship with your loved ones to your relationship with yourself (and even food or your body), understanding the way you connect is essential. Our relational focus also extends to our therapeutic connection. We strive to create a strong bond with each of our clients. We can then use our relationship as a model for the other relationships in your life. We prioritize a strong, genuine relationship with our clients because we don’t want to enable you in old patterns that keep you stuck. We want to support your healing–not contribute to what holds you back. Once we get a sense of how you relate to others and yourself, we can start to make positive changes to help you grow. You’ll learn new coping skills, new ways of thinking, and new ways of connecting.

How to get started

Here’s a broad overview of the therapy process. New to therapy and have more questions? We’ve got answers. Check out our frequently asked questions for more information.

1. See if we’re a fit for each other
The process starts with a free, 15-minute consultation. This helps us get to know you and gives you the opportunity to ask questions. From here, we’ll decide whether we feel like a match.
2. Have your intake session
If we both decide to move forward, we’ll set up our first official appointment. Your therapist will ask lots of questions and provide information about what to expect from the process.
3. Collaborate on a treatment plan
From here, you’ll set goals to accomplish in therapy. Together, we’ll decide how frequently to meet, how we’ll address the issues you’ve identified, and how to help you grow.

“Working with Jordanne for these last 3 years has been life changing. Her methods have helped me navigate through several challenging life transitions and obstacles. Her thoughtful, curious and challenging approach have helped my outlook on the bumps of life, and made me more at peace with myself and my everyday anxieties. I can truly say on the other side that I am the happiest and have the best mental health I have had in quite some time but I still look forward to each session and to continue doing the work with Jordanne on my side”

"When I first started working with Jordanne a little over 2 years ago, I was living alone after college and struggling with confidence. I have been in therapy for the last 20 years of my life and have never worked with a therapist so dedicated to helping me find my OWN voice. Jordanne is not the therapist for someone who wants to stay in their comfort zone and be advised on how to think. She is someone who will push and guide you to make your own best decisions. I have gone from thinking I knew myself to digging deeper than I once thought possible and gaining the wisdom and courage to navigate the trials and tribulations of life in my 20s. I truly believe I have the best therapist in the world and feel so incredibly lucky to have found Jordanne."

Working with Jordanne has been transformative for my life. We began working together in March of 2021, when I was at my mental rock bottom. Jordanne provided me with a safe space where I could be honest about deep-seated traumas and overwhelming day to day anxiety. Jordanne had always listened with genuine empathy and zero judgment. She also challenges me to think deeper, instead of just giving me the answer. If you had told me three years ago that I would feel the way I do today, I would not have believed you. I highly recommend Jordanne to anyone who is struggling with trauma or anxiety.
